Chocolate Applesauce Cake

350°F

10” Dutch oven

Pre-heat greased Dutch oven.

• 2 cups all purpose flour
• 1 cup sugar
• 2 teaspoons soda
• ½ teaspoon salt
• ½ teaspoon each of cloves and allspice
• 1 teaspoon each of nutmeg and cinnamon
• 1 tablespoon cornstarch
• 3 tablespoons powdered Hershey cocoa

• 1½ cups applesauce
• ½ cup soft butter
• ½ cup toasted almonds, chopped
• ¼ cup apple brandy

Add remaining ingredients to dry ingredients, mix well.

Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour. Cool and then dust with powdered sugar.
